Gerald D. Secundy, Chair of Board

The Secundy Group was founded by Gerald D. Secundy. He holds an extensive background in business, finance, regulatory agencies, and environmental community matters. He has more than three decades of leadership experience. He is the past president of the California Council for Environmental and Economic Balance. Prior to that position, Mr. Secundy was the Vice Chair of the California State Water Resources Control Board. He has also served large corporations as an environmental law expert. During the course of his career, he established an environmental policy consultancy group for smaller businesses. Other past positions include Executive Director of Audubon California, Vice President of External Affairs and Environmental Health and Safety at Atlantic Richfield Company, President of the Four Corners Pipeline Company, and an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in the Land and Natural Resources Division.

                                                                                                         Alice Callaghan   

Alice Callaghan is the founder/director of Las Familias del Pueblo, a community center for garment workers and their children.  Before founding Las Familias del Pueblo, she was the founder/director of Union Station, a community center/soup kitchen for the single, elderly, and handicapped poor of downtown Pasadena and the Holiday Meals in the Park in Pasadena.  She is an Episcopal priest and founder of Skid Row Housing Trust.

 

Mike Roos

Michael Roos is an American political strategist and former legislative leader in the California State Assembly, which he served for over 14 years. Mike Roos served as President and CEO of LEARN, a coalition of civic leaders and representatives of Los Angeles’ diverse education, ethnic, business, labor, academic, religious and social advocacy constituencies organized in 1991, to implement systemic reform and restructuring within the Los Angeles Unified School District. After his career in the California State Assembly, he became the founder and Chief-consultant of Mike Roos and Company, a public affairs and management company Roos founded in 1999.

 

Patricia Riordan Torrey

Patricia (“Trish”) Riordan Torrey grew up in South Pasadena, California.  After receiving her BA in mathematics from Colorado College, she taught math at Marymount High School in Los Angeles.  Post teaching, Trish enjoyed a 15-year career in television and film production.

Trish has two daughters (Jessica and Liz) with her artist husband, Dana Torrey. 

Along with the Jardin de la Infancia board, Trish serves on the board of New Roads School in Santa Monica.  In prior years, Trish also served on the board of Park Century School in Century City. 

Paul A. White   

Paul White, a native of Los Angeles, received his Bachelor's degree in Economics from UC San Diego in '82, followed by an MBA in Finance from UCLA in '88. He embarked on his professional journey as an analyst and portfolio manager at Arco Investment Management Company from 1988 to 1998. Subsequently, from 1999 to 2013, Paul held analogous roles at The Capital Group.

Robert Wycoff

Robert E. Wycoff retired as President and Chief Operating Officer of Atlantic Richfield in 1993, after a 40-year career with the company. He held various roles of increasing responsibility, ultimately becoming President. Born in 1930 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he graduated from Stanford University with degrees in mechanical engineering and served in the U.S. Navy's Civil Engineering Corps. Joining Richfield Oil Corporation in 1953, he later engaged in Los Angeles community organizations such as LEARN and LAAMP, focusing on public school reform. He also held leadership positions at the Huntington Library, Art Gallery and Botanical Gardens and the Diocesan Investment Trust.
